About

My name is Seb and I currently live in beautiful Switzerland with my wife Saskia. This website is the home of my photography, visual experiments and things I encounter in my life. If you would like to know more please read on.

How I met photography

When I was little, my dad used to take his SLR camera along whenever we were out or on special occasions. And I was always impressed by that fancy little black box. Fast forward a couple of years, I was out in the sky trying to pilot gliders and the view was just fantastic from above. Seeing the hills and fields in literally 3D, touching the clouds and feeling the wings rushing through the wind was a very unique experience. This led me finally to buy my first digital camera, trying to capture those unforgettable moments. It was nothing fancy and I can't even remember the no-name brand. After some years with this camera and the perspective of some 7 months of traveling ahead, I bought my first nice camera. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 with a 24mm wide 2.5x optical Leica lens. I really got into capturing moments, memories during my time traveling through the pacific. Sharing those with friends and family was even better. And since then, I just keep enjoying this beautiful journey of capturing, sharing and learning the craft. I am by no means a professional photographer, but a human loving the challenge of immortalising for a short moment living creatures and nature into that fancy little box.

Things I enjoy (besides photography)

In no particular order: going on a coffee date with my amazing wife, the wild and outdoors, Jesus, firefighting, climbing, good craftsmanship, technology, mighty mountains, church, quality over quantity, a good book on a comfy chair.
